Basketball is one of the most popular sports in Australia

Phillip Island and District Basketball Association competitions are run out of Newhaven College Gym – 1770 Phillip Island Road, Rhyll. We also use the San Remo Recreation Centre – 1A Wynne Road, San Remo for training sessions.

Playing basketball helps to improve motor coordination, flexibility, and endurance. It also encourages speed, agility, and strength. These skills are shown to have a positive effect on promoting a healthy body weight and encouraging more physical activity, which can enhance cardiorespiratory fitness and self-esteem.

To aid with skill development and teaching better techniques for our juniors, Basketball Victoria will adopt the use of a Size 5 basketball across all of our Under-12 competitions and programs.
