This 2km walk is classed as easy and will take you just under an hour

Forrest Caves Walk will take you to Phillip Island’s south side, where you will find sea caves that have been formed by erosion of the cliffs over many years. At low tide, water is forced out of the Forrest Caves, .

Bass Strait’s heavy wave action has caused erosion producing two rather large caverns right on the beach at Forrest Caves walk. They’re perfect for exploring as they become easily accessible at low tide.

Starting at the Forrest Caves car park, walk up the steps and turn left when you get to the beach. The walk passes by large sand dunes, home to thousands of short-tailed shearwaters from October to April.

Forrest Caves can only be explored and accessed at low tide.

Be careful of changing tides and waves.
