Our primary concern is for conservation of birds and bird habitat. A diversity of habitats is covered on our outings, enabling us to view a wide range of species.
BirdLife Bass Coast members are involved in a variety of volunteer activities, which include Hooded Plover Watch, over the summer months on Island and San Remo to Inverloch beaches, and a number of bird surveys such as Cape Barren Goose count, and Western Port Wader Study Group and Phillip Island Wildlife Corridor monitoring.
On our twice-monthly outings members enjoy a stroll through the bush, around a wetlands, along a beach or in a forest many times to an area not visited before, and as we look for the birds much discussion is held on identification etc. Most members learn something new each time.
